Cuddle up under a quilt

Well I am back with more quilts.........sure hope I don't lose any of you wonderful ladies with showing quilts...........but to me a quilt is an act of love.......both in the making and in the giving. I have received a few quilts and each time I use one or hang one of the holiday ones up, I think of that person, the time that they used, making something for me, when they could have been doing something else......

I truly love all of the red, white and blue quilts........the one yesterday that was the flag......that had various shades of off white and light creams.......as did the small wall hanging with the animals on top........I like that look the best.......as you can see, our first quilt is definitely white....and striking!
This one was cute.......I wish I had taken a close up of the white areas.......embroidered animals inside each of them, rabbits, squirrels, etc.............hmmm, let me see if I can play with my picture......man I sure hope I don't goof it up.......be right back No, I am sure there is a way, but right now I can't get it figured out....will put that on my list of things to figure out on the computer......

Now the next one I was really, really excited about, as I am doing the embroidery right now to make this......we won't be doing it as a quilt, but as a wall hanging.......but it was fun to see it done and in person.........

All of the panels have snow people or Christmas/winter sayings in them........I have one small snowman done and working on the one with them sledding right now.......it is a pattern over on Indigo Junction ( for some reason, I think Indygo would be spelled this way if you are looking for their site...not sure) if you would like to see it up close and personal.........man I don't care how long I have to wait until the quilt is clear of ladies, I am going to stop and take close ups of the things that I want..........I guess I didn't want to be in the way, I don't want to seem rude.......I know, I know, but I don't like it when other people just "assume" that it's their right to monopolize something........oh well, again I drifted.........

I love red..........so needless to say, I fell in love with this one too..........

Now the next picture isn't of a quilt, but just a cute little Christmas tree that was in this shop. We didn't go into many of the shops, the shops are small and tend to be crowded on the week-ends.........that's why I like going out on the week days...........plus I didn't want my friend to tire out before we "lunched" at the tearoom or saw all of the quilts.

Aren't they just sweet, you could tuck this into a little vignette, or in the bathroom....yes I use to have little trees in all three of my bathrooms back home........

Now to more quilts.......these were hung around the band stand.........I remember actually going to a park back in MA when I was little and spreading a blanket on the grass and listening to the band play. When I was 5, I was allowed to walk a wee bit from where we were sitting and purchase my own bag of popcorn.........alone!!!! I was hot stuff. Ooops, not quite to the band stand yet.........

Here we go.......

All of these quilts were quite large........I do seem to like the scrappy ones.........this one is a sampler of different blocks and I just was amazed at how it all fit together.

Blue and yellow...........have always like this combination on a quilt too.........

Wouldn't this look wonderful on a spare bedroom in a little shabby cottage......sigh........I dream away, don't I?

This lady was one of the breast cancer survivors........she also was a hand quilter........ah, those purists are everywhere.........tee hee.

Well I do have lots more, but I will wait and post them later in the week...........I don't want those ladies that aren't into quilts to get bored.........

Another beautiful day here in Texas.........just read an email from a friend in Wyoming........snowing like crazy there..........sigh.........don't miss the cold, no I don't........or shoveling.........snow should be for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, a wee bit during the school break, so that the children that received sleds, saucers and tubes could enjoy them........and then slowly fade away..........I know, moisture.........trust after thirty some years in Wyoming, I know the need for moisture..........think as I "mature", the cold bothers me more......

Hope your day is spent the way you want, with a sprinkle of sunshine and of course a giggle or two............hey TMC is having a Paul Newman day today.........

Oh yes, asking for help here..........I have visited blogs and sites, where you can click on the snapshot and it will enlarge..does anyone know how to do that..........if so I truly would like to be able to add that.........thank you.
