A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Today is a rambling day.............yesterday I was totally dysfunctional.........I only have to wear my glasses for reading and close work........so that is 90% of the time, but I don't drive with them or watch television......can walk around without them, but if I want to check a price tag or read something in a store.........hmmmm, you get the picture.......so most of the time they are on my Irish bulbous nose. Took Andrew to pre-school and then went to the little postal place that I like to mail off the Halloween give-away - congratulation to silverhartgirl- and I was turning the box over and over and over........I left the address off of it........then I notice that I didn't have my glasses with me..........things were going south quickly. Got home, and there were the trusted glasses on the counter......along with the piece of paper that I had the address on, so I called a friend in NM to ask her some questions, and while on the phone I was laying out beads for more of this project and realized that the beads I was using needed a gold lobster claw, not silver.......sigh............put them all back and dug out beads that would go with pewter lobster claws.......BUT........Andrew did take a nap yesterday.......hoooooooray!!!!!
Lunch at school went well......we were lucky enough to grab the table by the doors and the smile on Daniel's face when he saw us there, well it was worth all of the noise. I never promise him that I will come, I always say " I will do the best I can.........if you see us, you see us, and if not, then you know something happened that I couldn't come." Hate to promise and then as sensitive as he is, well he would go into an instant funk. One of his little buds sat with us and this little boy talks...........I mean talks. He calls me Nana and that is fine. He was all about Pirates of the Caribbean. Knows the names of all of the movies, the characters, some of the dialogue............it was like a mini showing without costumes........funnier than all get out.
Ok, I am not older than dirt, but I am older than Miley Cyrus............which isn't saying a whole lot. Once when I was a young married woman with my oldest daughter still a babe, we went back to visit my Nana and Da......it was a riot.......when my Da went to go and get the daily newspaper, my Nana looked at me and said " Now watch when he gets back, we'll have our coffee or tea, your Da will open the paper to the obituaries, read them, and then look over at me and say 'Well, Kit, we aren't dead, our names aren't in the paper today'. I laughed, and sure enough that is what happened right - exactly like she said it would. Guess with him doing this everyday, it was starting to get on her nerves.........and trust me, I never saw my Nana "lose it" or be mean.........she wasn't a saint, but she is one of those women that I would love to be compared to. What this is all leading up to, is..........since I don't know anyone in San Antonio who would be in the obituary section, I always read the famous birthday section. Like today, Sharon Osborne is 56.........you go Sharon. Now I don't read past the 40 year olds, because in all honesty I don't recognize some of the younger stars - singers - sad, but true........now some of the Disney teens and tweens I do know..........another whole subject. So I will try sharing some of the birthdays with my kids........well I use to........and I could tell by the look on their face " Big whoopee ding dong Mum"............you know the look. They are glad I am alive, but most of what I have to offer them is being heard as .wha wha wha wha........
Oooops, I have to get out of here.........going to a Hancock store to look at some Batik material for another project that I want to try...........hey if anyone knows a good source for ultra suede please let me know..........I am having a terrible time finding any........
Have a good day, share a smile..........

Oh Blueviolet, I think that my days are rather blah.......compared to what my days use to be, when I worked outside the home. Today if all goes well I am going to go to the bead convention for an hour......then go back again on Saturday or Sunday..scope it out today and then buy on the week-end,,,,well, maybe I will buy today if I find what I want right away,,,,the week-ends are like a $1.00 sale on pjs at Kohls.......you have to really be desperate to go OR truly in love with your fellow females........sigh......
