Quilts here, quilts there..........

I was going to continue to show you our decorations around our home for Halloween.............BUT....I took a special friend to an outdoor quilt show. Oh it was the perfect day here in our area.....it was cloudy overhead, so no sunshine to burn us up, but still warm........no jackets, I wore sandals (love Texas, I do, I do!). The quilt show was held in this wonderful little place called Braken Village.......this gentleman finds these old old old little Texas homes and brings them out to the village and refurbishes them and then rents them out to different little boutiques. This is also where I go for my beading lessons. So today and most likely tomorrow will be a quilt show on the blog........

Some of the quilts I did a fair to middl'n job of getting a good picture.....some were better than others........did the best I could and didn't get pictures of all of them So I hope you like the ones I did take........

Most of the little houses have porches on them.......so they made wonderful places to hang quilts, some of the quilts were shown on trees, or on lines, strung between trees......
This is my friend's backside........tee hee......told her it was going to be famous on the internet now. That pink baseball cap has the breast cancer symbol on the front......yup, she just finished her last chemo treatment 4 weeks ago and slowly gaining back her strength. It was truly an amazing experience today, as 4 other women came up to her, hugged and shared their story of their battle and victory with breast cancer.........I almost cried. Truly, it was so special and the camaraderie that these ladies have for each other.....well it is a beautiful thing. My friend only has duck or baby fuzz growing right now..........told her we could scotch tape ribbons on the top of her head, like they do new born baby girls.......
The quilts were arranged either by color. style or theme...........this house had the fall/Halloween. I just fell in love with this pumpkin one.......done in batiks and something that I hadn't seen before.

I love this pin wheel quilt.....I am not sure if there are repeats or not on this quilt, as far as the way the pin wheel can be represented........it was bright and cheery, but also a subdued quilt.....

The ladies in the previous picture and the small portion of this one, well I had a good time with them, as my quilt companion was talking to someone...........the shorter of the two ladies shared with me that there was another bead show in a neighboring town........sigh.....well yesterday I kept the economy going at the bead convention located in our area.........found some good bargains too.......so I won't be going to the one that she shared, but I AM going to go on line and see when they are going to have another one..........oh yes I am!!!!!

Don't you just love the maple leave color of red in this one...............

This is a cute little wall hanging.......well not that small really........in each block a fussy cut Halloween pictures is shown........see how they aren't all in the middle of each block? Again, should have taken a close up.........

This was being shown in the fall/Halloween area.........don't know why..........but it is the one that I voted for. It was vibrant and stood out so well.......the workmanship was good too. It was machine quilted, which is totally wonderful to me, but my friend is a hand quilter......called her a purist......she laughed.

I do have quite a few more.........maybe tomorrow I will share more, and then skip a few days....don't want non-quilt ladies to get bored.........hope everyone is having a good day......mine has been delightful

I never heard of an outdoor quilt show before. I like the one you liked the best. Those bright colors just pop!
