No Difference

I am taking a posting a different way to day..........daring into the unknown (well not really, but at least as far as this blog is concerned.) I have always loved words......I enjoy writing....fiction, fact.......I like the written word and the power that it can invoke. I also love children's books......I love the freedom - the silly words in some - the magic of the story, because in so many children's books you do the most mundane things but in such a special and magical way - and let's face it...........I love the drawings and the colors used. I like to read an occasional poem too..........Shel Silverstein is a favorite.........again, the magic and whimsy. I was reading Calamity Kim's blog

http://calamitykim.typepad.com/calamity_kim/ and I read another one yesterday, but darn if I can remember which one, sorry, but they used the most wonderful technique of storytelling and I wanted to take a stab at it...........but.........I will be using one of Shel Silverstein's poems...........I hope you enjoy.

No Difference

Shel Silverstein

Small as a peanut

Big as a Giant

We're all the same size

When we turn off the light.

Rich as a sultan

Poor as a mite

We're all worth the same
When we turn off the light

Red, black or orange

Yellow or white

We all look the same

When we turn off the light.

So maybe the way

To make everything right

Is for God to just reach out

And turn off the light!

Hmmmm, it's ok........I think I should maybe stick to my story telling, my words.........we'll see.

Smile today........it's Sunday and like Andrew shared with me today......I wike, green, red, Fel-boo-ary, Sunday and cwauds (clouds)................not that put a smile on my face.

I actually love this post and it's something I've never thought of before, how we're all the same once the lights are out and we can't see anything!!! Very thought provoking! lol xoxo
