Sigh, waddling in...........

Hmmm, this one isn't very artsy fartsy, is it? Well, maybe I can try to exhort enough energy to play with it and see what I can come up with............

A sure sign of spring in Texas is this sight............
It's the Texas Mountain Laurel.......oh trust me everyone, they are to die for. Beautiful and luscious clumps of purple splendor.......and the smell..........close your eyes and think back to when you were a little kid.........the smell of Grape Nehi soda pop............(now if you don't like that smell or the flavor, right away you will have a problem with this tree).........here is a picture of the blooms close up
Ok, the end for that little bit of information............on to my next comment..........and I sure hope I don't offend anyone.........

Why oh why, is it (and YES I know the answer before anyone thinks I am totally losing my mind) that public rest rooms insist on loading the tp dispensers with this paper thin product, that some snake oil salesman convinced them was toilet paper? I know, it isn't suppose to clog the toilet (or as I call in commode). Well I hate to blast you, but if the condition calls for it and sometimes no matter how hard you don't want it to, it does...........you have to use more than three sheets of this see through wonder. Ok, so it isn't going to bring around world peace, it isn't going to solve poverty or wipe out cancer..............but I am thinking it might make some of us happier and not feeling so guilty if we have to use more than we usually do. I know that cost has to be cheaper.......it has to be.........because if it isn't, then I am really going to be upset. Enough.....I shall proceed to my next sharing.

Has anyone heard of Clara Cannucciari? Well I hadn't, until I was reading the new articles on my home page. This woman is 93 and is sharing her depression recipes. http://depressioncooking.blogspot.com/ I hope this links you to her blog........and she is on u-tube too. I am enthralled with her. I want to find her home and spend a week-end with her. She shares stories about growing up in the depression as my mother did with me..........I have tried sharing them with my children, but they don't seem to be as interested in the history of the family as I was and am. Any ways, back to Clara Cannucciari..........her recipes seems worth trying and maybe I will sneak a few in on this family. Now be forewarned........heavy on the potatoes and pasta, so we aren't talking diet friendly.........but they seem tasty and filling and not that costly...........so maybe one or two nights a week you could sneak them in..........if you have a minute just go to her blog, better yet, look for her on u-tube.......I want to watch all of her u-tube shows
Hmmm, seems there was another thing I was going to ramble on about......but darn if I can remember what it was..........I have got to shake this blah, blue, pull me down and throw me about feeling that I have had.........it sure isn't for lack of sunshine, we have had a whole week of sun and warmth...........heaven.
Oh I finished two new necklaces........I will have to download them and share them with you...........
Smile.......just a wee one will do.

That Texas Mountain Laurel looks absolutely gorgeous! Oh I so wish there was such a sign of Spring around here but alas it's -5F and we have tons of snow! Wish we could do the scratch and sniff thing on our blogs, I would love to smell that Mountain Laurel!! lol

Oh, I so do know what you mean about that very thin toilet paper they use in public washrooms. We have to use that much more of it so they can't be saving much money that way...would make more sense buying thicker paper and then we'd use less of it!

I'll have to go check out Clara's website, I'd never heard of her before. She sounds like a delight and how wonderful that she is sharing her recipes:-)

Is that Peter Fonda in the picture on your previous post?? He's the one you partied with at Mardi Gras that one time? Cooooool!!!! With the sunglasses on I'm not sure if it is him or not! lol xoxo

OH yes, I have fond and exciting memories of Peter Fonda......no kissy face, huggy bear stuff, just young people having a crazy and wild time during Mardi Gras. I too wish I could share the aroma of this lucious and beautiful tree.....sigh....alas next year it will only be a sweet memory.....tee hee
